This project is about the vulnerability of beauty and its fragility. It is a series of female heads dotted with moths, butterflies and flower buds. Each year the quantity of butterflies on the planet decreases and soon they may totally disappear. Butterflies are the quintessence of «useless» beauty. There is no utility in these insects. They don’t produce, don’t protect… Just pure feast for the eyes. This is a kind of analogue of art in the world of wildlife and its vulnerability in the world of hard marketing.
The butterfly lives one day, to please the eyes, which is probably why its age is so short. A bright flash of pure beauty and emotion that can die the next moment, leaving only a bitter aftertaste of perfection.
